SOUND BATH MEDITATION ~~~ Psycho-Acoustic Medicine

WHAT IS A SOUND BATH?

Imagine for a moment you are laying comfortably and peacefully on the ground.  Your completely supported by the Earth.  Your breath is long and slow, and your mind and body are becoming totally relaxed. You are about to descend into a deep and relaxing meditation.  It begins with the soft tinkles of tiny harmony balls.  The sound of the instruments blend gently from one sound to the next. Chimes seem to float above your head.

WHERE CAN I USE MY EXPRESSIVE ARTS TRAINING?

WHERE CAN I USE MY EXPRESSIVE ARTS TRAINING?

I am writing this blog about how Expressive Arts is used in the world because I get this question all the time.   I will try to cover all of the possibilities and options that I can think of, but I am always amazed at my students who find even more unique ways in which to use their training in expressive art and combine it with what they already are doing in the world.

Let begin ~ First, I usually prefer to speak to people over the phone about this topic because it is so vast that it is difficult to write about.

OPENING TO YOUR CREATIVE FLOW

OPENING TO THE CREATIVE FLOW

The creative flow is always there and available to us.  It is the flow of the Universe.  It is the movement of the cosmos.  We are all channels of this creative energy flow that is ever moving and undulating.  This creative energy is around us and flows through us IF we allow it to.  So, what are the obstacles limit this energy to freely flow through:  reason, planning, critical thinking, lack of time, procrastination, stagnation, lack of self-trust, holding on, judgment and resistance to change.

WHAT IS ALL THE BUZZ ABOUT INTUITIVE ART?

WHAT IS INTUITIVE PAINTING

There is a lot of buzz around the painting town about intuitive painting.  But, WHAT ISINTUITIVE PAINTING? Intuition is independent of any reasoning process; or without rational thought.  Intuition is a prompting from an inner guidance or voice.  Traditional artistic training teaches us that we must have a plan.  We must block out of space and plan or color pallet.  However, in intuitive painting we suspend all of that reasoning.   Intuitive painting is not concerned with what color pallet you are ‘planning’ on using or what your plan is for a subject.

BRAVE INTUITIVE PAINTING

Hello Expressive Arts Therapy Enthusiasts,

This year I was drawn to an artist who is teaching a form of art or she calls "Brave Intuitive Painting".  Her name is Flora Bowley.  I was drawn to this process at first because of the name, 'brave intuitive painting'.  I know it takes a certain amount of bravery to approach a blank canvas, and to release your creative spirit.  So, I wanted to see what this ‘brave intuitive painting’ was all about.  So, I joined this online painting e-course by Flora Bowley.
